An All-Encompassing Holiday Adventure At The Eldorado Resort in the Okanagan Valley

by | Oct 1, 2019

Lake Okanagan is known for its majestic beauty and stunning scenery. Venturing to this enchanted region of British Columbia is a dream destination. When you are looking for an all-encompassing resort right on the lake, the Eldorado Resort at Lake Okanagan should be at the top of your list.

Comprised of 3 properties: Eldorado Hotel, Manteo, and Eldorado Marina, Eldorado Resort is owned by Argus Properties. Argus first purchased the Eldorado Resort, and then later purchased Manteo. They have merged both resorts under one single resort and named it Eldorado Resort.

The Eldorado Hotel has 52 rooms. Originally built in 1927, this historic building was originally located 3 miles down the lake, and in 1997, it was moved on a barge to its current location. It would re-open in 1998.

The original building had a fire but was rebuilt using as much wood as possible from the original building. There are historic photos and memorabilia throughout the property, which pay tribute to its history as an important landmark and venue on the lake – from the swimming and rowing clubs to the Lady of the Lake competition.

The restaurants at Eldorado Resort feature as much farm-to-table as possible. The Chef’s work with local farmers and producers to procure fresh, local ingredients for their seasonal inspired menus.

The whisky bar offers the whisky and scotch from around the world – take a Irish, Scottish, Canadian, American, or around-the-world whisky flight. The largest whisky bar in the Okanagan. Eat right on the lake – the closest restaurants on the lake, in Kelowna.

Eldorado Marina has power boats, kayaks, and paddle boards for rent. You do not need a boater’s license to rent and drive a boat. Proceeds from all boat rentals are donated to the Kelowna General Hospital. There are two gyms at Eldorado Resort, one at Manteo and one at the Eldorado Hotel. The gym at Manteo featured newer and more equipment, and the Eldorado Hotel gym features some cardio machines, free weights, and steam room.
