Meet Andrew J Duffer
Andrew Joseph Duffer is shaking things up with his unique blend of Southern charm and sharp wit. Known for his short, 4-5-minute videos, Duffer tackles some of today’s most pressing issues with humor and insight. His Southern drawl and rapid-fire delivery keep viewers entertained while offering fresh perspectives on topics like racism, homophobia, and hypocrisy. If you’re looking for a new voice that challenges your thinking and makes you laugh, Andrew J Duffer is a must-watch.
From Texas to the Screen
In his own words, Duffer hails from “a country bumpkin, podunk town in northeast Texas,” where the population is less than 5,000. He describes his hometown as a place where hypocrisy, racism, and homophobia run rampant. Through his videos, Duffer offers a comedic yet poignant critique of life in small-town Texas, shedding light on the struggles faced by immigrants, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people of color.
One of his memorable quotes includes: “If you’re a Black person and you can act white and dress white, whatever the f**k that means, you’re considered a white Black person, and you won’t experience racism in its full capacity. Don’t misunderstand me, you certainly will experience racism, it just won’t be as bad.” Duffer’s observations are both humorous and deeply revealing, prompting viewers to reconsider their own perceptions of race and identity.
The Pandemic’s Silver Lining
For Duffer, the pandemic provided an unexpected opportunity to voice his thoughts. “It slowed the world down enough that I hoped people would have a chance to listen and think for themselves,” he explains. With many people turning to online content during lockdowns, Duffer’s videos found a receptive audience eager for new perspectives on long-ignored issues.
“It’s a shame that it took a virus to jog us into examining ourselves, our lives, and our country,” Duffer remarks. His videos encourage viewers to reflect on their own beliefs and biases, making them laugh while also challenging them to think critically.
The Making of a Video
Creating his rapid-fire monologues requires careful preparation. “I collect and organize my thoughts, read it out loud and time it, and practice saying it real fast the way I do in the videos,” Duffer shares. His goal is to keep each rant to around five minutes, ensuring they are concise and impactful.
Duffer’s blunt and brutal honesty is a key part of his appeal. Now more than ever is a great time to share some pretty obvious truths. His videos tackle a wide range of topics, from the Confederate flag and historical injustices to the Black Lives Matter movement and homophobia. No subject is off-limits.
Speaking Out for the LGBTQ+ Community
As an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, Duffer uses his platform to address issues of acceptance and support. “I feel like I am speaking for the LGBTQ community in advocating for supporting others,” he says. “Gay people know what it is like not to have support. We always anticipate not being accepted when we meet somebody new, particularly in a small southern town.”
Duffer’s own experiences with discrimination fuel his desire to speak out on behalf of others. He addresses topics like hypocrisy and homophobia with a mix of humor and sincerity, making his videos both entertaining and thought-provoking.
Tackling Trump and His Supporters
Duffer doesn’t shy away from discussing politics, particularly the support for Donald Trump among his townspeople. “I haven’t said anything to these people because they support Trump; you’re entitled to your own opinion,” he says. However, he finds it telling that many feel the need to justify their support for Trump.
“It’s always something along the lines of ‘I think he’s good for the economy’ or ‘he’s beneficial to my small business,'” Duffer explains. He challenges his viewers to think critically about their political beliefs and the implications of supporting certain candidates.
Opening Up Critical Conversations
Duffer’s videos spark important conversations about the future of America. His comedic takes on serious issues highlight the urgency of addressing racism, homophobia, and hypocrisy. By speaking out, he hopes to inspire others to examine their own beliefs and advocate for change.
His videos cover a wide range of topics, from the Confederate flag and historical injustices to the Black Lives Matter movement and homophobia. No subject is sacred, and Duffer’s willingness to tackle difficult topics head-on makes his content both refreshing and necessary.
The Future of Andrew J Duffer
Looking ahead, Duffer plans to continue using his platform to advocate for marginalized communities and challenge societal norms. His videos offer a unique blend of humor and insight, making them a valuable resource for anyone looking to expand their perspectives.
“Gay people know what it is like not to have support,” Duffer says. His experiences have made him a passionate advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and a powerful voice for change. By addressing issues of acceptance and support, Duffer hopes to create a more inclusive and understanding society.

Good for you!

Real truth usually has barbs in it and Andrew snags those hateful church people every time. A gay Christian is, to my way of thinking, the definition of a masochist. Truly funny though I think dropping 3/4 of the “fucks” would make it 5 times funnier. Cute, too, though at my age everyone his age looks “cute”! Enjoying every “episode” from New Orleans.
No… EVERY fuck is excatly where it needs to be. Thank you sir.

How about commenting on Trump (and his extraordinary incompetence), his family, the book his niece put out—also Bolton’s book—his buddy, attorney general Barr—lappdog Biden—turtle face Mitch McConnell—nutcase Rudy Giuliani, creepy Kellyanne Conway–get out of jail free, convict Rodger Stone—dictators Trump loves—-the barrels of orange powder Trump puts on his face—even though Trump is anti-Semitic, Jared is okay because he’s rich—his constant misspellings on tweets—-he’s too weak to admit he’s wrong—-his disastrous leadership with covid-19–as well as environmental issues, etc.—–his terrible diet—-having affair with Stormy Daniels while his wife was giving birth to his son—constant exaggerations even when proven wrong—-how history will record him as the worst president—his fake University—disastrous casino business failures—why is he afraid of criticizing Putin—–and I’m sure much more you could easily remember or find.

I enjoy Andrew’s videos so much. He seems like somebody that I’d enjoy being friends with. I live in Ft. Worth, TX and have seen us change from a red city to blue this past election. It has been really refreshing to see the change. I live in what has been a very Republican neighborhood until this year. I think that the orange thing’s lack of leadership on COVID and the Black Lives Matter movement contributed to that.

Great info about a great guy, but you omitted something really big: the url for Andy’s online shop, which I can’t find no matter how hard I search.
As the straight grandmother of a gay young man (hugs are free for any gay whose mama has threatened to kill them over their sexuality the way his mama did), I have been trying to find Andy’s online shop ever since he mentioned it in one of his YouTube videos and I couldn’t find anything with which to write it down. I want to get some things for me and for my grandson.
Please, help me and Andy’s other super fans to find his shop.
The best way to reach me is to post on Twitter to @RobinAGardner1
Hi Robin,
You can shop for all kinds of Andrew gear at http://shopteatime.com/.
Those hugs also sound wonderful – especially when the COVID-19 global heath pandemic is over.
Cheers!
Brian
