Vancouver’s Next Broadway Across Canada Season Is Stacked With Big Musicals And Bigger Drama

by | March 1, 2026 | Time 4 mins

Vancouver is getting a glossy new excuse to plan a night out. The Broadway Across Canada 2026-2027 season in Vancouver is set for the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, bringing five major productions to the city across the season, from pop-fueled fun and family favorites to one of the biggest titles in modern musical theater.

A strong touring season can change the mood of a city. It gives people something to look forward to, fills group chats with plans, and turns an ordinary week into a reason to get downtown, dress up, and make an evening of it. Live theater still carries that kind of pull. You feel it in the crowd before the lights go down, in the applause after a huge number, and in the buzz that follows people out onto the street.

This season has that kind of promise. Broadway Across Canada is bringing & Juliet, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Mrs. Doubtfire, Hamilton, and The Bodyguard to Vancouver, and the mix feels smart. There is nostalgia here. There is camp. There is heart. There is also more than enough drama to keep theater lovers fed all year.

A Season With Range

The 2026-2027 lineup stretches from September 2026 through July 2027 at Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre. On paper, it is a balanced season. In practice, it looks like a very fun one.

& Juliet arrives first, running September 29 to October 4, 2026. This is the musical for anyone who likes their Shakespeare with better choices and a killer pop soundtrack. Built around songs by Max Martin, it gives Juliet a different future and lets her story spin in a sharper, cheekier direction. For audiences who want something playful, current, and easy to fall into, this one has obvious appeal.

Then comes Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, running November 24 to 29, 2026. That title does not need much help selling itself, but the return still feels special. This new tour marks Disney’s first North American touring production of the musical in more than 25 years, which gives the Vancouver stop extra weight. There is comfort in a show like this, but also a little grandeur. Some titles just know how to sweep people up.

The new year opens with Mrs. Doubtfire, in town January 19 to 24, 2027. Based on the hit film, the musical brings broad comedy, family tension, and a lead character audiences already know by heart. It has the kind of premise that works well in a touring season because it invites in casual theatergoers without feeling slight. There is warmth to it, but it also knows how to land a joke.

Then there is Hamilton, back in Vancouver from May 26 to June 13, 2027. At this point, its reputation is set. Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical remains one of the most recognizable shows in the world, and audiences continue to show up for it in huge numbers. That is not just brand power. The material still has urgency, speed, and spectacle, and for anyone who has not seen it live, this run will feel like required viewing.

The season closes with The Bodyguard, playing July 6 to 11, 2027. For many queer audiences, this may be the title that sparks the most excitement. A romantic thriller built around songs made famous by Whitney Houston already comes with emotion baked in. Add the drama of a stalker plot, a superstar at the center, and a score filled with songs people know in their bones, and this one could become the sleeper obsession of the whole package.

Broadway Across Canada Season Tickets

What Broadway Across Canada is really offering here is not only a five-show package. It is a full season of shared nights out in the city. That came through clearly in a statement from Shana Levin, Vice President of Broadway Across Canada, who said, “Live theatre has a unique way of bringing people together, and that sense of shared experience is at the heart of what we do. By presenting Broadway productions in cities across Canada, we’re creating opportunities for communities like Vancouver to come together, experience something extraordinary, and feel the magic of Broadway close to home.”

That is the pitch, and honestly, it lands. Vancouver does not need to be told why live theater matters. People already know. What they want is a season worth spending on. This one looks like it could earn that commitment.

What Subscribers Should Know

Broadway Across Canada is encouraging theater fans to lock in the season through a subscription package, which starts at $329 for all five shows. Subscribers get benefits including the same seat location for each show, early access ahead of the general public, locked-in pricing, and online options for upgrades and exchanges.

That matters most when a title like Hamilton is involved. The biggest shows create a rush, and waiting around for single tickets can leave people picking through what is left. For anyone who already knows they want the full season, the subscription route is the cleanest move.

An Exciting Season Lineup for Vancouver

Not every season needs to be stuffed with prestige titles to feel strong. It needs personality. This one has it.

There is a bright pop musical that can pull in younger audiences. There is a Disney classic for the romantics. There is a broad comedy with family appeal. There is Hamilton, which still carries enormous weight. Then there is The Bodyguard, ready to tempt anyone who wants vocals, tension, and a little diva energy in the middle of summer.

That spread gives the season shape. It also gives Vancouver audiences options depending on their mood. Some shows are built for date night. Some are ideal for a friend group. Some are the kind you book first and figure out the rest later.

For queer audiences especially, musicals remain one of the great shared pleasures of live culture. They can be emotional, over-the-top, intimate, glamorous, or messy, sometimes all in the same act. This season understands that. It does not feel one-note. It feels alive.

Which Show Has Your Name On It

The Broadway Across Canada 2026-2027 season in Vancouver has enough variety to pull in longtime theater fans and people who only book a show once or twice a year. Whether you are ready for Hamilton, curious about & Juliet, or already planning to sing your face off after The Bodyguard, this lineup gives Vancouver plenty to look forward to.
