Northalsted Market Days

Chicago is one of North America’s essential gay city escapes, where skyline views, lakefront energy, deep LGBTQ history, and big-neighborhood personality all come together. Northalsted, the city’s landmark gay neighborhood, is the center of the scene with gay bars, drag, restaurants, rainbow crosswalks, the Legacy Walk, and the kind of street-level visibility that makes a summer weekend feel instantly social. From Andersonville to Uptown, Chicago serves culture, nightlife, architecture, food, and chosen-family fun with serious big-city confidence.
Northalsted Market Days turns Northalsted into one of the hottest gay weekends in the Midwest, filling North Halsted Street from Belmont to Addison with live music, DJs, drag, food, drinks, vendors, dancing, and wall-to-wall summer energy. Running August 7 – 9, 2026, the three-day street festival brings four stages, 250+ vendors, and thousands of LGBTQ locals and travelers into Chicago’s proudest neighborhood for a weekend that feels part block party, part outdoor concert, and part gay reunion. It’s loud, sweaty, social, and exactly the kind of August escape built for short shorts, late nights, and one more round.
