Jinkx and DeLa Holiday Show Gives Christmas a Fresh Script for 2026

by Brian Webb  |  Sep 16, 2026  |  Time 4 mins  |

The Jinkx and DeLa Holiday Show is giving Christmas another rewrite. BenDeLaCreme and Jinkx Monsoon will bring a new production to 30 cities across the United States and Canada from November 6 through December 30, 2026. Expect new songs, theatrical comedy, and elaborate costumes from two drag performers who have made holiday storytelling an annual collaboration.

Both became widely known through RuPaul’s Drag Race, but their partnership has grown through scripted theater. Since launching their holiday project in 2018, they have put their characters through increasingly absurd seasonal predicaments, building a tradition that leaves room for adult humor and sincere feeling.

This year brings their eighth live holiday production within nine holiday seasons, which also included the 2020 film The Jinkx & DeLa Holiday Special. For returning fans, the reason to book is fresh material. For newcomers, the premise is straightforward: two queens taking considerable liberties with Christmas.

A New Story Beneath the Tinsel

BenDeLaCreme writes, directs, and produces the show, with additional writing by Monsoon. BenDeLaCreme Presents produces the tour.

Previous editions have involved Christmas treats coming to life, Dickensian ghosts, body swaps, and artificial intelligence. Those are examples of where the pair have already gone. The announcement does not reveal the 2026 plot, leaving its central misadventure under wraps.

What it does promise is a newly written production with songs, dance numbers, comedy, and heartfelt storytelling. Fans following HomoCulture’s coverage of the 2025 show should expect a different story this season.

That annual reinvention gives the collaboration its creative challenge. Familiar performers return, but the script has to give repeat audiences something new to watch.

The Reunion Behind the Show

Monsoon’s career now includes roles in Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors, and Oh, Mary!. DeLa’s work spans solo theater, directing, and running her own production company. Their holiday show gives those separate careers a recurring point of reunion.

In the tour announcement, Monsoon says, “Nine years, where does the time go?! You’d think it would feel like a daunting task, but every year, around this time, DeLa and I start getting excited that our time together is coming again. Somehow, every year, our amazing company makes something spectacular that exceeds even our own expectations — then we get to share it with our community at a very meaningful time. What a great way for a witch to spend the solstice.”

That sense of reunion extends an invitation to audiences: put a night of LGBTQ theater on the holiday calendar alongside the usual dinners and obligations.

Tour Stops and Ticket Details

The official tour schedule begins with Charlotte previews on November 6 and 7, followed by opening night on November 8 at Booth Playhouse.

Canada gets three stops: Montreal’s L’Olympia on November 18, Toronto’s Meridian Hall on November 19, and Ottawa’s Hard Rock LIVE on November 20.

Other dates include New York City Center on November 25 and 27, Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre on December 6, and Seattle’s Moore Theatre from December 21 through 24. The tour ends at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre on December 30.

Tickets are on sale through the official website. VIP packages, including a photo opportunity, are purchased separately and require proof of a show ticket. Check the listing for your venue before booking, since admission ages vary.

Christmas Moves Onto the Page

The pair will also release Jinkx & DeLa: How the Queens Made Christmas through Chronicle Books on October 20.

Written by BenDeLaCreme, the illustrated adult holiday book traps the queens inside a book, where they must work together to create a Christmas story. It includes backstage photographs and lyrics from three original songs. A separate collection of 12 pop-out holiday ornaments accompanies the release.

Make Room for a Different Holiday Tradition

A new script gives longtime fans something to anticipate and newcomers an easy place to begin. Keep up with more LGBTQ arts through HomoCulture’s email updates, and leave a comment with the city where you hope to catch Jinkx and DeLa or your favorite memory from a past show.
