4 Simple Ways to Stay Safe at Live Events in 2022

by | Mar 15, 2022

Looking back on 2020 it seems that events almost vanished overnight. Professionals worldwide began working from home and learning how to adapt to the event. Restaurants and venues were not lucky enough to continue to work.

It caused a global lockdown, and over the past two years, we have all been cooped up in our houses. Finally, it feels that the COVID-19 pandemic is manageable. With that said, there is still a lot of uncertainty around returning to normal life, specifically how to react in a situation such as a concert or live event where many people are attending.

Here’s how you can make returning to a live event enjoyable and feel prepared upon arrival. We will also tell you how to keep safe, so you don’t have to hear your friends talking about how you caught a virus that’s eight seasons old.

Buy Tickets Online in Advance

If you’re going to attend a live event in 2022, you should take advantage of the technology that has been developed over the past two years. If you think about it, before 2020, e-tickets and passes existed, but people rarely used them. Since the pandemic changed the world, it also changed processes. Before heading to your event, make sure you download all the apps you need or grab a pdf copy of your ticket and have it handy on your phone.

Trying to grab a ticket at the box office likely won’t be an option, but if we think about this – does it really make sense? It costs time and money for the companies to keep people in a place for you to pick up your tickets. Also, why would you want to waste time standing in a line when you could just show your pass and be on the go?

Know Before You Go

Another thing that has surged is the requirement for venues to have rules and regulations in line with local government. These rules vary, so you should check them very well before attending an event. Some common requirements for a venue are a COVID passport. It’s proof that you have been vaccinated, reducing the spread of new and existing variants of covid. You’ll likely need to show this before going into a venue, and it’s very positive.

It ensures everyone’s safety! Something we have all gotten used to, whether you love it or hate it, is wearing a mask. Some venues require you to wear a mask when indoors. In some instances, you may need to allow the venue to check your temperature and knowing this before heading out is a great way to feel prepared and not have any surprises.

Get Vaccinated and Test

If you are going to attend a live event, it’s unlikely you’re thinking about a COVID test. It could be the farthest thing from your mind. Still, why not consider getting a test to make sure you and those in your vicinity are safe and covid free? Some big venues could still require a negative test for entry, and even if they don’t, it’s a great idea to know your status – and we don’t only mean HIV.

That about covers it for getting prepared to head to your venue. You should take all the previous steps before the day of your event, so you are well prepared. Nobody wants to head to the venue just to be denied entry over something silly that you can avoid. But what should you do on the day of your event?

Use Layers of Personal Protection

We recommend packing your bag with a mask and some personal hand sanitizer. Although many venues will have hand sanitizer, many people will touch the dispensers, and they could be unclean. Also, if you’re about to down some nachos, do you really want to search out a hand sanitizer dispenser?

Making sure you have a personal bottle is a great way to avoid these little mishaps, and it is great advice for walking around the town. Also, your venue could make you wear a mask. Even if you don’t have to wear it, having one will ensure you can enjoy your event!

Enjoy your time and have a blast! After two years, we all deserve to let loose a little. Just remember to play hard while staying safe!
