Violet Heart Cocktail

Jun 1, 2023

The Luscious Lavender Cocktail is the feature drink representing the pink colored stripe on the pride flag! The pink stripe on the LGBT Pride flag has changed over the years! Originally introduced by Gilbert Baker in 1978, the pride flag featured eight vibrant colors, each symbolizing a distinct facet of the LGBTQ+ community. The pink stripe was initially associated with sexuality. However, due to production challenges, it was eventually removed, leaving behind the iconic six-color flag we recognize today. However, now with the progressive pride flag featuring the trans flag as well, the pink stripe takes on a new meaning to represent our trans sisters!

This inclusion serves as a meaningful recognition of the unique experiences and struggles faced by trans women. Throughout history, trans women have encountered significant obstacles such as discrimination, marginalization, and violence. By incorporating the pink stripe, the pride flag demonstrates a commitment to inclusivity within the LGBTQ+ community and acknowledges the resilience and strength of trans women!

The pink stripe serves as a vibrant affirmation of the beauty, visibility, and unity of trans women. It acts as a powerful reminder that trans women hold an integral place within the LGBTQ+ community and deserve unwavering support, acceptance, and celebration! By embracing the pink stripe, the pride flag demonstrates solidarity and fosters an environment of understanding, respect, and empowerment for all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Sustainability, LGBTQ, diversity, and injustice are core pillars of Stoli. The original vodka recipe was developed in 1938, and by 1948 it was being made and bottled in Latvia, where the award-winning Stoli lineup is made to this day. Stoli has a long, rich history of supporting the LGBTQ community, when in 1991 Stoli became one of the first spirit brands to actively champion LGBTQ issues on global equality, visibility, and acceptance for all. In 1997, Stoli was purchased by Yuri Shefler, transforming Stoli into a vertically integrated company, which lead to Putin waging a war in 2000 for the vodka trademark, which has been unsuccessful.

In 2018, Stoli commemorated the 40th anniversary of Harvey Milk being the first openly gay elected official in California, by launching the limited edition, individually numbered, Harvey Milk Limited Edition bottle, with proceeds going to the Harvey Milk Foundation LGBGTQ programming in Eastern Europe and the Baltic nations. Proudly Latvian, Stoli has affirmed their ongoing support of Ukraine and is steadfast in denouncing Russia’s aggression on the sovereign nation. Stoli’s spirit continue to inspire to create a better future for all.
